After falling behind early, Fordham mounted a couple of comebacks, getting close to the top of the mountain only to get knocked back down. The final occurrence came early in the second half when the Rams cut a ten-point St. Bonaventure advantage to three, 48-45,  following a Jon Severe three-pointer with 15:19 remaining but the Bonnies responded with a 9-2 spurt to get the lead back to ten, 57-47, 3:25 later.

A Thomas three-pointer with 12:13 left made it a seven-point game and the Rams trailed by seven again with 6:21 on the clock after a Frazier layup, 65-58, but St. Bonaventure scored ten straight points over the next three minutes to put the game away.

The two teams opened play trading baskets with four ties over the first 4:36, the final time at 15 following a Thomas trifecta. St. Bonaventure netted the next ten points to take a 25-15 lead with 11:16 left following a Charlton Kloof layup and the Bonnies would get the lead to 12 twice over the next eight minutes, the final at 37-25 with 3:05 remaining.

A Severe three-point play with 2:46 on the clock ignited an 8-2 Fordham run to close out the half as the Rams pulled to within six, 39-33, at the break. Severe led the run with six points.

The Bonnies scored six of the first eight points to open the second half and open a 45-35 lead and the Rams trailed by ten again, 48-38, with 16:49 remaining when the Rams mounted their final comeback attempt.

Severe added 13 points for the Rams and dished out six assists, tying his season high, while Ryan Rhoomes finished with five points and six rebounds and Ryan Canty grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots.

The Rams return to action on Saturday, February 15, as they travel to Richmond, Virginia, to face the University of Richmond Spiders in an Atlantic 10 matchup in the Robins Center at 6:00 p.m. in a game that will be televised live on SportsNet NY (SNY).
