Behind four goals from Jake Lloyd, the Iona Gaels were able to hold off the Fordham Rams, 12-10, in the third annual Judge Cup game, played in memory of the late Dr. Francis Judge.
 
The loss puts Fordham at 10-11 on the year, 2-5 in the CWPA Northern Division, while Iona improved to 3-14 on the year, 3-4 in the league.
 
Things started out great for the Rams, notching four goals in the first period, capped by an extra-man goal by 
Ori Raz.
 
The Rams remained ahead by two at halftime, 6-4, as 
Andrew Gonzalez netted his second goal of the game, while 
Patrick Lenihan had his first.
 
Iona knotted the game in the third quarter at eight-all before the Rams snuck one final marker by 
Davis DeFontes with 18 seconds to take a 9-8 lead into the final period.
 
The Gaels though would outscore Fordham, 4-1 in the final frame, which included two goals by Ian Thompson, to take the match, 12-10.
 
For Fordham, Gonzalez led the way with three goals and two assists, while 
Bobby Wurtz had two goals and a steal.  
Eric Minowitz netted a goal, two assists, and two steals with Raz and DeFontes a goal and an assist each.  
Patrick Reyes added the final marker for the Rams.  In net, 
Noah LeBeau had nine saves and two steals.
 
The Fordham water polo team will next be in action on Saturday, October 25
th, when the Rams play a pair of games at Princeton.  Fordham takes on Princeton at 11:30 AM and Washington & Jefferson at 4:00 PM.
