Pittsburgh, Pa. (January 8, 2014) - The Fordham University men's basketball squad opens their 2014 Atlantic 10 season as they travel to Pittsburgh to face the Duquesne University Dukes in the A.J. Palumbo Center on Wednesday night, January 8, at 7:00 p.m.

Fordham enters the game with a 7-6 record after a 79-69 loss at Siena College on December 30. Duquesne enters the game with a 7-5 record after defeating Appalachian State University, 79-55, in Pittsburgh last Thursday.
The Rams will be led into the game by the top scoring backcourt in the Atlantic 10, senior guard
Branden Frazier, a preseason Third Team All-Atlantic 10 pick, and freshman guard
Jon Severe, a product of Christ the King High School. Severe, a four-time Atlantic 10 rookie of the week, is averaging an Atlantic 10-best 20.5 ppg while Frazier is right behind him, averaging 18.5 ppg, third in the conference.
Over his three-year career, Frazier has netted 1,317 points, good for 14
th on the Fordham all-time scoring list.
Wednesday night's contest will be the 32nd meeting between Fordham and Duquesne on the hardwood. The Dukes lead the all-time series, which started in the 1949-50 season, 18-13, but the Rams took last year's meeting, 82-75, in the Rose Hill Gym on January 9 as
Chris Gaston scored 18 points and grabbed ten rebounds and
Branden Frazier added 16 points and a career-high 13 assists.
