Saint Louis Game Notes
Coming off a win in the Fordham Holiday Classic and an 11 win non-conference slate, the Rams are riding a school-record ten game winning streak into Atlantic 10 play. The Rams will kick off their league schedule on Thursday night, taking on Saint Louis in a nationally televised game on CBS Sports Network.
SERIES HISTORY: Fordham and Saint Louis have met each other nine times over the course of their tenure as Atlantic 10 foes, with Saint Louis holding a 5-4 advantage in those contests. The Rams, however, have won the last three games played between the Billikens, including a win in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championships this past spring.
SCOUTING SAINT LOUIS: Saint Louis comes to the Rose Hill Gym with a 5-8 mark in non-conference play. The two teams have played one common opponent, Holy Cross, despite their geographic dissimilarities. The Rams dominated the Crusaders in Worscester, 76-49, while the Billikens lost a 51-49 heartbreaker at home.
The Billikens have two players averaging over 12 points a game, led by freshman phenom Erin Nelson. The Ballwin, Mo., native is averaging 14.5 points and 4.6 rebounds a game and shoots over 80 percent from the charity stripe. Desirae Ball is the other Billiken in double figures, scoring 12.8 per outing.
Saint Louis has impressed on the boards this season, averaging over 42 rebounds per game.
