St. Louis, Mo. (January 18, 2014) - The Fordham University men's basketball squad continues their 2014 Atlantic 10 season as they travel to St. Louis to face the 24
th-ranked Saint Louis University Billikens in the Chaifetz Arena on Saturday afternoon, January 18, at 2:30 p.m. (EST).
The game will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network with Mike Corey on play-by-play and former Fordham assistant coach Stan Van Gundy on color, broadcast live on WFUV and can be followed live via livestats. Follow the links above.
Fordham enters the game with a 7-9 overall record, 0-3 in the Atlantic 10, after an 80-68 conference loss to the University of Dayton in the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday night. Saint Louis, ranked 24th in the latest AP Top-25 poll, enters the game with a 16-2 overall record, 2-0 in the Atlantic 10, after a 66-60 conference win over St. Bonaventure in St. Louis on Wednesday night.
The Rams will be led into the game by the top scoring backcourt in the Atlantic 10, senior guard
Branden Frazier, a preseason Third Team All-Atlantic 10 pick, and freshman guard
Jon Severe, a product of Christ the King High School. Severe, a four-time Atlantic 10 rookie of the week, is averaging an Atlantic 10-best 20.9 ppg while Frazier is right behind him, averaging 19.0 ppg, third in the conference.
Over his three-year career, Frazier has netted 1,381 points, good for 12
th on the Fordham all-time scoring list.
Saturday afternoon's contest will be the tenth meeting between Fordham and Saint Louis on the hardwood. The Billikens lead the all-time series, which started in 1971-72, 8-1, and have won the past six match-ups, including a 90-73 win in the Rose Hill Gym last year on February 6 as Dwayne Evans netted 24 points and grabbed ten rebounds and Cody Evans added 22 points.
The game will also be one of many this season between the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities across the United States as part of the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight.
