QUEENS, N.Y.- Brianna O'Neil tallied her third double-digit kill game of the season and
Maria Rodenberg registered a game-high 16 digs, but the Rams fell to St. John's 3-0 at Carnesecca Arena on Tuesday night.

With the loss, the Rams fell to 6-6, while St. John's improved to 8-4.

The Rams started out well against the Red Storm, as Fordham took an early lead over its Big East opponent on a
Lisa Hipp block for the first point of the set. The two squads traded points over the next few minutes, but the Rams jumped ahead by two, 13-11, after a Red Storm attack error. Unfortunately for Fordham, St. John's rattled off the set's final 14 points, taking the first by a 25-13 margin.

Fordham fared better in the second half. After falling behind 5-1 early, the Rams worked to narrow the Red Storm advantage, whittling the deficit to two on an O'Neil kill at 9-7. Ahead 14-12, St. John's was able to pull off yet another impressive run, scoring seven in a row to move ahead 21-12. Fordham made it close at the end of the set thanks to a 6-1 run of their own, pulling within four at 22-18. St. John's, however, closed out the set 25-20.

The Rams put up their best effort in the final set, staying within reach of the Red Storm for the entirety of the stanza. St. John's, however, managed to pull away slightly in the middle of the third, scoring five out of six to move ahead 16-11. Fordham narrowed the lead back down to three on kills from O'Neil and
Kristen Ostach late in the set, but St. John's came out on top 25-21.
