The Fordham water polo team wrapped up competition at the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday with a pair of tough opponents in Mercyhurst, a preseason top-20 team, and Bucknell, currently ranked 15
th in the country.Â

The Rams were up to the task in the first game against Mercyhurst, posting a 10-6 victory.

Fordham led for the most of the contest, taking a 3-2 lead after the first quarter and a 5-3 edge at the half. The Rams remained ahead by two after three quarters at 6-4, and finished the game with four goals in the final stanza to seize the win.

For Fordham,
Ori Raz tallied a game-high four goals, while
Patrick Lenihan had three goals.Â
Nicholas Allen added two markers with
Bobby Wurtz having the final goal. In net,
Noah LeBeau posted 11 saves and two assists.

In game two, the Rams fell to the #15 Bison by a score of 14-7.

With the score tied at two after the first quarter, Bucknell netted five goals in the second quarter to take control of the contest.

Raz and
Davis DeFontes each had two goals to lead the Fordham offense, while Allen,
Ben Clinkinbeard, and
Eric Minowitz each had one. LeBeau made nine saves in goal for the Rams.

With the split, Fordham is now 5-3 on the season.

The Fordham water polo team will next be in action this coming weekend with four home games. The Rams faceoff with Harvard (2 PM) and Brown (7 PM) on Saturday, September 21
st, and then take on MIT (10 AM) and Connecticut College (2 PM) on Sunday, September 22
nd.
