Box Score
Going into Saturday night's match-up with Army, the Fordham men's soccer team knew it would be a tough task to come away with a decision, as the Black Knights had not allowed a goal in their first four games. In the end, the defensive struggle was not decided until the 104
th minute of overtime, where Army snuck away with a 1-0 victory over the Rams at Clinton Field in West Point, N.Y.
The win improved Army to 5-0-0 on the year, while Fordham is now 2-3-0.
Scoring chances were limited through regulation with each team registering only one shot on goal in the first half. Army's chance came early in the sixth minute off a Sean Morgan shot, while Fordham's opportunity was in the 33
rd minute off the boot of
Nathaniel Bekoe. On both occasions, the goalkeepers,
Alex Naples for Fordham and Winston Boldt for Army, came up with the stop.
Fordham had the next scoring chance early in the second half, as Boldt made a nice stop on Fordham freshman
Jon Agostino just 1:27 into the period.
Neither team would record another shot on goal until the second session of overtime. Naples made a save on Army's Ethan Spivack in the 102
nd minute, but would get beat in the 104
th minute. Near the sideline, Tanner Vosvick lobbed a pass near the top of the box. Christian Ollen quickly one-touched the ball to Trase Stapley, who ripped a shot just inside the upper left corner for his first goal of the season.

The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Friday, September 20
