BRONX, N.Y. - For the second time in just three days, the Rams emerged from a home doubleheader with a pair of conference victories, as Fordham downed George Washington 8-3 in the first game and 3-0 in the second tilt on Saturday afternoon.

Jamie LaBovick made Fordham history in the twinbill. The Peoria, Ariz., native tied Nicole Callahan's school-record 17 game hitting streak with a 2-3 effort in game number one before eclipsing the mark with a 2-4 output in game number two to take sole possession of the record.

Gabby Luety and Elise Fortier each hit a pair of homers on the day, as Fortier hit a pair of dingers in the first game, while Luety went deep once in each contest.

Game One:

A late offensive burst proved to be more than enough for the Rams as they toppled GW, 8-3, in the first game of a doubleheader at Bahoshy Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams and Colonials failed to push a run across until the third inning, when an RBI single from Autumn Taylor and a run-scoring double from Luety knotted the score at one.

Then, in the bottom of the fifth, Fordham broke the tie with back-to-back solo blasts from Fortier and Luety, giving the Rams a 3-1 lead heading into the top half of the sixth.

GW responded quickly with a pair of runs to tie the score at three, but the Rams answered back in a big way in the bottom half of the frame. A Fortier three-run shot highlighted a five-run inning for the Rams, giving the squad the 8-3 advantage with which it would end the contest.

Game Two:

Michele Daubman pitched her second gem in just three days in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, as the North Massapequa, N.Y., product threw seven innings of shutout ball to help lift Fordham to a 3-0 victory over GW.

The Rams struggled to get a run across in the early going of game number two, stranding five runners on base over the first four frames.

It wasn't until the bottom of the fifth that either team finally made its mark on the scoreboard, as Gabby Luety pulled a two-run shot to left field that sailed well over the wall, giving the Rams a 2-0 lead.

Daubman retired the side in order in the top of the sixth, and a Paige Ortiz single in the bottom half of the inning scored Kayla Lombardo from second base, giving the Rams an insurance run as they bumped their lead to 3-0.

Daubman made quick work of the Colonials in the top of the seventh, retiring the side in order again and securing her 10th win of the season.
