BRONX, N.Y. - Two stellar pitching performances from Jamie LaBovick and Michele Daubman lifted the Rams to an impressive sweep of La Salle at Bahoshy Field on Thursday afternoon. The Rams downed the Explorers 5-1 in the first game and 8-0 in game number two.

Game One:

Senior Jamie LaBovick stole the show in game one for Fordham, picking up the win in the circle and going 2-4 at the dish to help the Rams secure a 5-1 win over La Salle.

The Peoria, Ariz., native gave up only one run (unearned) and two hits over seven innings of work, registering her ninth win of the year. Her record now stands at 9-7.

At the plate, she extended her career-high hit streak to 15 games, going 2-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Brianna Turgeon drove in a pair of runs for the Rams, while Allie Bradian and Gabby Luety also pushed runs across for Coach Bridget Orchard.

Fordham got the offense going early, as Turgeon scored Elise Fortier from second in the bottom of the first inning after Fortier legged out a double.

La Salle tied it up at one in the top of the third, but Fordham responded right away. A Luety sac fly and another Turgeon RBI single scored two runs for the Rams, as they pushed their lead to 3-1 after three.

The Rams picked up two more in the bottom of the fourth when LaBovick and Bradian picked up RBIs, and that was all the offense that Fordham would need. LaBovick stayed strong in the circle over the remainder of the game, surrendering only one hit over her final four innings of work to pick up the win.

Game Two:

After downing the Explorers in the first tilt of the afternoon, the Rams used another dominant pitching performance to sweep La Salle in the second game of the day, 8-0.

Michele Daubman pitched a gem, tossing six innings of three-hit ball to pick up the complete game shutout. The North Massapequa, N.Y., native struck out seven and gave up only two walks on the afternoon to move her record to 9-4 on the season.

Much like LaBovick did in game number one, Daubman helped her own cause from the plate, as she picked up three hits and two RBIs.

The Rams started off the scoring early once again, picking up three runs in the bottom of the first, as Luety, Turgeon and Daubman all registered an RBI.

The Rams didn't pick up runs in either the second or third innings, but three more runs in the bottom of the fourth pushed the Fordham lead to 6-0 after four.

Back-to-back triples from Chelsea Palumbo and LaBovick gave the Rams another run in the bottom of the fifth, and a Lombardo bomb to left field in the bottom of the sixth gave the Rams an 8-0 advantage, invoking the run rule and securing the Fordham victory.

Turgeon and Daubman each picked up a pair of RBIs in game number two, while Lombardo, LaBovick, Luety and Palumbo drove in one run apiece.

LaBovick extended her hitting streak to 16 games.
