Philadelphia, Pa. - La Salle's Shawn O'Neill allowed just one run over 5.2 innings of work, while Pat Christensen recorded his third save of the series, as the Explorers completed a sweep of the Fordham Rams on Sunday with a 3-2 victory at Hank DeVincent Field in Philadelphia.

The loss puts Fordham at 10-11 on the year, 0-3 in the Atlantic 10, while La Salle improved to 7-12 on the year, 3-0 in league play.

La Salle hit the scoreboard first in the third inning, where Ryan Welling hit a solo home run to left to give the Explorers a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Collin McGowan singled home Mark Williams, who had doubled, for a 2-0 lead.

La Salle extended the lead to 3-0 in the fourth, taking advantage of a Fordham error.

Fordham got on the board in the fifth, as the Rams loaded the bases on singles by Ian Edmiston and Joseph DeVito and a walk to Mike Mauri. Matthew Cianci then plated Edmiston with a sacrifice fly to left.

The Rams closed the gap to 3-2 in the seventh, as with one out, DeVito doubled down the left field line and Mauri was walked. After a wild pitch, Cianci's ground out to shortstop was able to score DeVito from third.

After reliever Brett Kennedy got out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh, Fordham again loaded the bases in the eighth. Charles Galiano led off with a double to left and one out later Joseph Runco drew a walk. After a strikeout and a wild pitch, Edmiston drew another walk to load the bases for DeVito. However, DeVito was struck out looking by Adam Cherry to keep the score at 3-2.

In the ninth, Fordham got the tying run aboard on a bunt single by Cianci with one out, but La Salle closer Pat Christensen got the final two outs to record his third save of the series.
