Clearwater, Fla. - The Fordham softball team capped off a perfect 5-0 trip at the USF Under Armour Showcase on Sunday, as Michele Daubman and Taylor Pirone combined to throw a three-hit shutout in a 4-0 win over the Maine Black Bears. The win extends Fordham's win streak to six and was the fourth consecutive shutout by the Rams.

The victory puts Fordham's record at 11-9 on the season.

Fordham opened the scoring in the first with a pair of runs off a Maine error. With two on and two outs, a Michele Daubman pop up was misplayed by Maine second baseman Kristen Koslosky, allowing two runs to score on the dropped pop up.

The Rams increased the lead to 3-0 in the fourth, when Chelsea Palumbo connected for a solo home run to left, her third of the season.

Fordham closed out the scoring in the sixth inning, as Taylor Pirone singled to center, moved to second on a ground out, and scored on an infield single by Claudia Law.

The four-run cushion was enough for the pitching duo of Daubman and Pirone, as they extended Fordham's scoreless innings streak to 30. Daubman (4-3) got the win, allowing just three hits and one walk over five innings of work with four strikeouts, while Pirone earned her first career save with two hitless innings of relief to go with two strikeouts.

At the plate, Pirone, Palumbo and Jamie LaBovick were each 1-for-3 with a run scored.

The Rams will next be in action on Tuesday, March 12th, when the team takes on Boston University at 1:30 PM in Clearwater, Florida.
