Hipp Records 1,000th Kill in Loss to George Mason

The San Francisco native becomes the tenth player in school history to reach the mark

The Fordham Rams dropped a heartbreaker on the road Saturday night, falling to George Mason in a match that saw two sets go to extra points.
 
Saturday's loss marked an historic occasion for Fordham's Lisa Hipp, as she became the tenth player in school history to record 1,000 kills.  The San Francisco native tallied 18 kills against the Patriots on Saturday.  A senior academically, Hipp will return to Rose Hill next season with one more year of eligibility.
 
With the loss, Fordham drops to 9-19, 2-10 in the conference, while George Mason improves to 7-19, 3-9 in the A-10.
 
Set scores were 27-29, 25-13, 25-23, and 26-24, respectively.
 
Brennan Delsing also registered a double-digit kill effort for the Rams, finishing the contest with 13. 
 
Sophomore setter Abigail Konovodoff eclipsed her career-high on Saturday, dishing out 47 assists.
 
Defensively, four Rams finished the game with over ten digs.  Maria Rodenberg led the Rams with 21, while Konovodoff registered 15, and Delsing and Hipp put up 12.
