The Fordham water polo team traveled to Cambridge, Massachusetts this weekend to compete at the 2013 CWPA Northern Division Championship.

The Rams lost their opening match to third-seeded Brown University in the first match on Saturday by a score of 9-5. In the game, Fordham's
Ben Clinkinbeard and
Ori Raz each had two goals in the contest, while
Patrick Lenihan had one.Â
Noah LeBeau made seven saves in goal.
Â
In match two of the championship, Fordham defeated Connecticut College by a score of 13-4. The Rams had a balanced scoring attack as seven different Rams found the scoring column. Raz led the way with three markers, while Andrew Gonzlaez,
Nicholas Allen,
Eric Minowitz, and
Peter Bergum each had two.Â
Bobby Wurtz and Lenihan rounded out the scoring for the Rams with a goal apiece.

In goal, LeBeau played three-plus quarters, making six saves and allowing two goals.Â
Patrick Harrigan and
Sean Sullivan wrapped up the netminding duties with Harrigan posting two saves and an assist.

In Fordham's final game of the championship on Sunday, Fordham lost a nailbiter to Iona in overtime, 12-11.

Trailing, 10-6 entering the fourth quarter, Fordham rallied with four goals in the final period to knot the game at 10 and force overtime. However in overtime, the Gaels netted two goals to Fordham's one to earn the fifth place finish.

For Fordham, Allen and Raz each had three goals with
R.J. Simmons and Lenihan each having two. Gonzalez had the final marker for the Rams. In net, LeBeau had 10 stops.

Though the team did not automatically qualify for the CWPA Championship in two weeks, the Fordham water polo team could receive an at-large berth into the field. That decision will be announced this coming week.
