The Fordham volleyball squad had been struggling as of late heading into their penultimate home match, but the Rams showed no signs of faltering on Sunday, dominating La Salle in straight sets.

With the win, Fordham moves to 9-16, 2-7 in the conference, and snaps a seven game skid. With the loss, La Salle drops to 1-26, 0-9 in the A-10. Fordham also extended its winning streak against La Salle to 26 games, dating back to 1998.

Lisa Hipp led the Rams with 11 kills and
Brianna O'Neil added nine. As a squad, the Rams hit .364 for the match, including a .500 performance in the second set.

The Rams and Explorers traded points to start the match, but Fordham quickly pulled in front with a 7-1 run to make it 14-7 midway through the first set. After La Salle recorded a point to make it 14-8, the Rams closed the set on an 11-2 tear, taking the first stanza 25-10.

Fordham jumped out to another large lead in the second set, taking an 8-3 advantage in the early going. La Salle uncorked a little run to move within one at 9-8, but the Rams turned on the jets from there, finishing the set on a 16-8 run to move ahead 2-0.

The third set was much of the same for the Rams, opening up a huge run midway through the set to pull ahead by a significant margin. Leading by one at 10-9, Fordham rattled off an 8-1 streak to move ahead 18-10. La Salle scored the set's next six points to tighten the Rams' advantage to two, but Fordham regained its touch out of a
Gini Ullery timeout, outscoring La Salle 7-4 the rest of the way and winning the set.

The Rams have one home match remaining in the 2013 season, when Fordham hosts La Salle next Saturday at 7 PM for Senior Night.
