The Rams made a late push to seal the first set, closing out the opener on a 9-1 run to take a 25-18 victory. Hipp led the way for the Rams in the early going, tallying seven first set kills on just 12 attacks with only one error for a hitting percentage of .500.Â

The Rams could not seem to muster the same late heroics in set number two, as Dayton opened up a huge lead in the middle of the set on an 11-2 run. The Flyers went on to take the second stanza by a margin of 25-15.

Dayton jumped out to a huge lead early in the third set, as the Flyers rattled off another 11-2 run to move ahead of the Rams 12-4 in the early going. Fordham never recovered, dropping the third 25-15.

With their backs against the wall, the Rams struggled to get it going in the fourth set. Dayton scored 11 of the set's first 12 points, eventually downing Fordham 25-9.

The Rams have little time to recover after Friday's matchup, hitting the road and heading to Pittsburgh for a Saturday evening showdown against Duquesne at 7 PM.
