The Fordham men's soccer team picked up a very important point in the Atlantic 10 standings on Sunday afternoon, playing to a 1-1 draw at 19
th-ranked Dayton.
With the tie, Fordham is 3-7-1 on the year, 0-1-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Dayton moved to 10-0-2 on the season, 0-0-2 in the conference.
The Flyers pulled ahead in the 27th minute when Abe Keller controlled the rebound from his attempted corner kick. Keller then crossed a ball into the box at the six-yard line where Amass Amankona knocked in a header goal, his fourth of the season.
The score remained in Dayton's favor at the half. The Flyers recorded 13 total shots, six of which were on goal, compared to Fordham's five shots and one on goal.
Fordham then caught the break the Rams needed to tie the game. In the 59th minute, Andy Hickey put a cross toward goal and a defensive error by the Flyers deflected the ball into the net for an own goal, knotting the game at one.
Neither team could find the decisive marker over the next 51 minutes, as the game ended in a draw.

Alex Naples was a busy man, as he was credited with a season-high 12 saves, while Chris Froschauer had three stops for Dayton.
