The Fordham water polo team wrapped up play at the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, picking up its first win of the season against George Washington, while falling to Bucknell.
With the split, Fordham is 1-6 on the season.
In the opening match, Bucknell defeated Fordham by a 20-8 score.
Bucknell led 8-5 at halftime, which was followed by a seven-goal outburst in the third quarter, which put the game of out of reach.
For Fordham, Nicholas Allen led the charge with three goals, while Andrew Gonzalez and Peter Bergum each scored twice. Davis DeFontes had the final marker for the Rams.
In the second game, four Rams finished with multi-goal games as Fordham topped George Washington 11-8 to earn its first victory of the season.
The Rams led 7-2 at the half and scored three times in the third quarter to lead by eight.
Allen, Gonzalez, and DeFontes each netted three goals to lead the Fordham attack, while Peter Bergum got his first two goals of the season. In net, Noah LeBeau made 14 saves.
The Fordham water polo team will next be in action on September 15-16, as the Rams head to Annapolis, Maryland, for the Navy Invitational.
