DeSilva then drove in Cianci with a single to left center. After a ground out, Ryan Lee plated DeSilva with a single to make it a two-run game. A balk moved Lee to second with Maghini drawing a walk to bring Mauri to the plate. Mauri delivered another RBI-single to score Lee, getting Fordham within one.

Dayton then hit back-to-back Fordham batters in Kownacki and Small to force in the go-ahead run.
Dayton was held in check by Fordham reliever Jeremy Adel, as he held the Flyers off the board entering the bottom of the ninth.
