Cathedral City, Calif. - On day two of the Cathedral City Classic in Cathedral City, California, Fordham defeated Cal. State Fullerton 1-0 in a game played on February 25. The Rams have evened their record at 6-6 on the season.

Chelsea Plimpton was in the circle to start for the Rams, and she was masterful early. She didn't allow an extra-base hit until the sixth, when she surrendered a lone double. Offensively, the Rams rallied in the top of the third inning.

Chelsea Palumbo led off the third with a single. After a Shager strikeout, Jocelyn Dearborn ripped a single to center. Nicole Callahan followed Dearborn, and loaded the bases with another base hit. With the bases loaded and one out, Fordham failed to score as Samantha Pellechio and Jamie LaBovick each grounded into a fielder's choice and the inning was over.

The Titans picked up their third hit of the game in the bottom of the sixth when Ashley Carter laced a one-out double down the left-field line. Jen Mineau came in to relieve Plimpton. Ari Cervantes struck out for the second out of the inning, and Nicole Johnson was hit by the pitch to put the go-ahead run on first. Mineau escaped trouble when she struck out K.C. Craddick to end the threat.

In the seventh, with the score still at 0-0, the Rams pushed a run across. Leadoff hitter, Lindsey Kay Bright reached on an error. She advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Palumbo. Bright moved over to third on a passed ball. Shager then connected on a clutch-single up the middle and drove in Bright with the games only run. Deaborn also singled, but the Rams didn't score.

In the bottom of the inning, Lauren Mario singled to center and advanced to second when the hit was misplayed by Bright. Mario advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt. Mineau came through and ended the rally by striking out the final two batters, and Fordham had a 1-0 win.

Despite 5.1 innings of three-hit ball, Plimpton earned a no-decision. She allowed three hits, walked one and struck out two. Mineau earned the win in relief. She struck out four and allowed just one hit in 1.2 innings. The two combined on the fourth shutout of the season. Katey Laban took the complete-game loss for the Titans.

The Rams complete play at the Cathedral City Classic on Saturday, February 26th as they face LSU at 8:30 P.M. Eastern and battle with Nevada in the rubber match at 11:00 P.M. Eastern. After the Cathedral City Classic, Fordham travels to Orlando, Florida to compete in the 2011 Citrus Classic beginning on Friday, March 4.
