The Fordham water polo team wrapped up play at the 2011 CWPA Northern Division Championship on Sunday, falling to host MIT by an 11-7 final score. The loss ends Fordham's season at 8-21 overall.
The Rams trailed 3-0 before netting a pair of markers to close within, 3-2 by the end of the first quarter.
After each squad scored twice in the second quarter, MIT took advantage of a depleted Fordham bench, extending the lead to 10-6 by the end of the third quarter.
Each team scored once in the final period for the 11-7 final score.
For Fordham, Josh Itano netted his first three-goal game of the season, while Andrew McKernin, Nicholas Allen, Jake Bakas, and Robert Fleming each scored once. Noah LeBeau made nine saves in net for the Rams.
