Volleyball Downed by Dayton

Bronx, N.Y. - Behind a match-high 19 kills by Rachel Krabacher, the Dayton Flyers swept a three-set volleyball match from the Fordham Rams at the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday night. Final set scores were 25-16, 25-13, and 25-15.

With the loss, Fordham falls to 5-19 on the season, 2-6 in the Atlantic 10, while Dayton improved to 17-5 overall, 9-0 in the Atlantic 10.

The Flyers opened the match with a nine-point set one win. Dayton hit .344 in the set with Rachel Krabacher connecting for seven of the Flyers' 14 kills.

In set two, Krabacher added eight more kills with the Flyers having four team blocks, as Dayton took a two-set lead with a 12-point second set win.

Set three saw Fordham get an early lead at 3-2, but Dayton stormed back with six straight points, en route to closing out the match with a 10-point set win.

Fordham was held to a .044 hitting percentage for the match, while the Flyers finished with an attack percentage of .384, which was led by Krabacher's .559 clip.

For the Rams, Carina Thompson had a team-high seven kills with Randi Ewing adding five kills. Emily Atwood registered a match-high 12 digs with Sara Konkel having 13 assists and five digs.

The Fordham volleyball team will next be in action on Friday, October 28th, when the Rams play at Saint Louis, beginning at 8:00 PM Eastern.
