St. Louis, Mo. - Despite 22 shots toward goal, one of Fordham's highest totals this season, the Rams could not find the back of the net on Friday night at Saint Louis, as the Billikens posted a 2-0 win over the Rams at Hermann Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri.

With the loss, Fordham drops to 8-7-2 on the year, 3-3-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Saint Louis improved to 5-7-3 overall, 3-2-1 in the league.

After a scoreless first half, Saint Louis found the opening marker of the game in the 48th minute. Abbey Stock crossed the ball in from the left side, where Lindsay Elking headed into the far side netting for her first goal of the season.

Fordham looked for an equalizer a few minutes later, but two attempts by Kristina Maksuti went wide of goal.

The Billikens extended the lead to 2-0 in the 59th minute, when Jessica Lopez scored an unassisted tally for her first goal of the season. Lopez chipped a shot off the underside of the cross bar and bounced into the net.

The Rams tried frantically to get on the board, but Saint Louis goalkeeper Katie Walsh had three of her seven saves over the final 30 minutes to seal up the 2-0 decision. Fordham goalkeeper Rachel Suther took the loss in net, posting three saves.

The Fordham women's soccer team will next be in action on Sunday, October 23rd, when the Rams end their four-game road trip at Charlotte, beginning at 1:00 PM.
