Final Stats

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The record-setting day for the Rams didn't tell the entire story as they fell to Duquesne, 87-65 in an Atlantic 10 Conference game in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Fordham set a new single-game three-point record by connecting on 13-of-23 attempts. They made 10-of-12 in the first half alone.

The torrid shooting began right away for Fordham as Tiffany Stokes scored the first four points of the game on two free throws and a basket. After a Duquesne hoop made it 4-2, Becky Peters made the first of the 13 three-pointers to give the Rams a 7-2 edge at 16:53. From there, the Dukes went on a 7-0 run to take a slim 9-7 lead. Fordham promptly tied the game at 14:07 on a basket by Kristina Bell.

Fordham's next basket, another Peters three-pointer, came at 12:53. In the nearly 10 minute stretch between 12:53 and 2:54 all 27 Rams' points came off three-point shots, with four of those from Peters. Freshman Abigail Corning buried three, and Charlotte Stoddart and Caitlin Shadbolt made one each.

Despite the three-point barrage, Duquesne led 41-38 at the half.

In the second half, the Rams got as close as a single point, at 46-45, when Peters made another three-pointer at 17:31. From there, the Dukes pulled away for the 87-65 victory. The record-setting three-pointer for the Rams came at 2:07, when Arielle Collins buried the thirteenth three-pointer of the game.

With the loss, the Rams now own an overall record of 10-12, including a 2-4 A-10 mark. They return to the Rose Hill Gymnasium to face Richmond on Wednesday, February 2. The start time for that game is noon.
