Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham was looking to get back above the .500 mark as it welcomed the Temple Owls into the Rose Hill Gymnasium on Saturday, but it was Temple who came out victorious, 71-28. Despite the lopsided loss, Tiffany Stokes recorded the first double-double of the season, as she posted game-highs in points (15) and rebounds (12).

Fordham stalled out of the gates, as Temple scored the first 15 points of the game before Becky Peters hits a jumper at 10:29 to record the Rams first points. From there, the Rams battled back as Charlotte Stoddart hit a jumper at 8:08 to bring Fordham within 12, 18-6. Temple then closed out the first half with a 21-5 run to take a 39-11 lead into the intermission.

The second-half effort from the Rams was more propitious as Stokes scored back-to-back buckets for Fordham to open the scoring for them. Less than six minutes later, it was Stoddart who pulled down a rebound and went coast-to-coast for the basket. Off the bench, team captain Alexandria Zamora logged 17 minutes, her longest stretch of the season. She pulled down three rebounds, recorded a steal and added an assist.

With the loss, the Rams fall to 9-10 on the season, 1-2 in the A-10. Temple owns an 11-6 record, with a 3-0 mark in conference play. Fordham returns to action next Saturday, January 22nd, when they welcome the George Washington Colonials into the Rose Hill Gymnasium. The game time is 1:00 p.m.

Game Notes: Stokes recorded the first double-double of the season...she had nine offensive rebounds...Fordham held Temple to 7-18 behind the three-point line...Rams outrebounded the Owls 38-36...Peters had a game-high three steals.
