Match 6 - Syracuse 3, Rider 0

Day two of the 2010 Rose Hill Classic began with Syracuse earning a 3-0 victory over Rider. Final sets scores were 25-16, 25-11, and 25-16.
Syracuse improved to 11-0 overall and 3-0 in the tournament, while Rider dropped to 1-7 on the year, 0-3 in the Classic.
Syracuse had a great offensive attack, finishing with a .427 hitting percentage in the match, led by Lindsay McCabe, who finished the match with 10 kills and a .556 hitting percentage. Noemie Lefebvre also chipped in seven kills and seven digs for the Orange.
For Rider, Megan Knott hit .353 with seven kills to lead the offensive attack,.
Match 7 - Stony Brook 3, Harvard 1

The second match of the day saw Stony Brook take down Harvard in four sets. Final set scores were 25-19, 25-19, 20-25, and 25-21.
With the win, Stony Brook improved to 3-7 overall, while Harvard dropped to 2-4.
Stony Brook won the match behind the duo of Ashley Headen and Alicia Nelson. Headn finished with 15 kills, while Nelson had a match-high 18 kills and two aces.
For Harvard, Anne Carroll Ingersoll had eight kills and four blocks, with Christine Wu having a match-high 18 digs.
Match 8 - Fordham 3, Rider 0

On the heels of Kailee May's career milestones on Friday, Fordham senior Katie Wells did so on Saturday, as she became the ninth Ram to reach 1,000 career kills, as the Rams topped Rider in three sets. Final set scores were 25-11, 25-16, and 25-21.
Fordham moved to 6-4 with the victory, with Rider dropping to 1-8.
Wells recorded six kills in the first set, giving her 1,001 for her career. Not to be overlooked in the match were the performances of freshmen Lisa Hipp and Maria Diamantidis. Hipp, making her first career start, posted a season-high nine kills and a .368 hitting percentage, while Diamantidis had 33 assists, five digs and a pair of aces. Freshman Carina Thompson also saw her first major action, posting four kills and five blocks.
For Rider, Megan Knott, who was named to the All-Tournament team, had nine kills and three blocks.
Match 9 - Syracuse 3, Harvard 0

Syracuse wrapped up a perfect weekend with a three-set win over Harvard to capture the 2010 Rose Hill Classic title. Final set scores were 25-13, 25-18, and 25-20.
Syracuse is now 12-0, while Harvard fell to 2-5.
Tournament MVP Noemie Lefebvre put together a match-high 13 kills and seven digs for the Orange, while Hayley Todd had nine kills and five digs. Lindsay McCabe, who also made the All-Tournament team, posted six kills in Syracuse's finale.
For Harvard, Mikaelle Comrie recorded seven kills, while All-Tournament selection Christine Wu had 14 digs defensively.
Match 10 - Stony Brook 3, Fordham 2

Without a single five-set match in the first nine matches of the Rose Hill Classic, it was only fitting that the last match of the tournament would go the distance and then some. It the final match, Stony Brook defeated Fordham in five sets, 17-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-18, and 23-21, to earn second place distinction at the Rose Hill Classic.
The action was back and forth throughout with Fordham dominating set one with a .414 attack percentage, while set two saw Stony Brook's Alicia Nelson connect for seven kills to even the match at one set apiece.
Fordham amazingly regained the momentum in set three, fighting off four set points to win the set, 26-24, but once again Stony Brook came calling with a 25-18 win to force the decisive set.
The final set was just as wild, going to extra points with both teams having plenty of chances to seal a win. Fordham had match point at 14-13, but could close the deal, before Stony Brook had three match point opportunities, but squandered each one. The Rams then had three more match points, but each was turned back by the Seawolves. The Seawolves then regained the advantage, and got kills from Jeanette Gibbs and Ashley Headen to seal a 23-21 set win and take the match in five.
For Fordham, Kailee May finished with a team-high 17 kills to go with nine digs and four aces, as she was named to the All-Tournament team. Mary Diamantidis tied a Rose Hill Classic record with 56 assists in a five-set match with Christi Griffiths having 14 kills, three blocks and three digs. Katie Wells also chipped in 15 kills with Maria Rodenberg having 16 digs defensively.
Both Headen and Nelson were named to the All-Tournament from Stony Brook, as they had 15 kills and 18 kills respectively in the five-set win.
