Bronx, N.Y. - Following a stretch of four games in six days last week, the Fordham Rams used this week to recover and re-energize themselves for the start of December basketball. That energy was on full display on Saturday, as four Rams scored in double figures, as Fordham led wire-to-wire in a 77-55 win over St. Peter's College in women's basketball action at the Rose Hill Gym.

With the win, Fordham improves to 5-4 on the season, while St. Peter's remains winless at 0-6. The game was first of five games in December against MAAC opponents for Fordham.

"It was a good effort. We did some good things on the offensive end with some good ball movement and our three-point shooting was a strong point today," said head coach Cathy Andruzzi following the game. "It was wasn't our best game defensively or at the free throw line. We need to get better at those elements to be successful, but a win is a win, and we'll try to improve on that in our next game."

The Rams opened the game with a three-pointer by Becky Peters, and never seemed to look back. Fordham scored the opening eight points of the game, and pushed the lead to double figures, six minutes in the game on back-to-back jumpers by Caitlin Shadbolt.

Peters then connected for back-to-back three-pointers, giving Fordham a 19-point lead, 25-6, with 9:51 left in the first half. The Rams continued to hit from distance throughout the half, as Kyara Weekes hit the Rams' sixth three-pointer of the period, giving Fordham a 42-25 lead into halftime.

At the break, Fordham shot 56% from the field, which included 6-for-11 from three-point range. Fordham's Shadbolt and Peters each had 13 points at the break to lead all scorers.

Tiffany Stokes had 16 points and eight rebounds against the Peahens.

Fordham continued its dominance in the second half, extending the lead to as many as 27 points. Fordham kept hitting from downtown as well, adding three more three-pointers for nine total in the game. The last of those three-pointers came from Weekes with 3:49 remaining. That basket placed the Rams with a 72-48 lead, a lead that finished as a 77-55 win.

The Rams tied a season-high with nine three-pointers, shooting 52.9% from behind the arc, with five different Rams having at least one three-pointer. Fordham had four players reach double figures in scoring, led by Peters with a game-high 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, which included 4-of-5 from three-point range. Tiffany Stokes added 16 points and eight rebounds with Shadbolt having 13 points. Arielle Collins also chipped in 12 points off the bench with Ariel Dale grabbing a career-high eight rebounds.

Teresa Manigrasso was St. Peter's top scorer with 15 points and five assists.
