The Fordham University water polo squad closed out play at the 2010 Northern Division Championship with a 9-8 win over MIT in the third place game. With the top four finish at Northern Championships, the Rams advance to the 2010 Eastern Championship to be held at Bucknell University.
The Rams led 3-0 after the first, 5-1 at the half and 7-2 after three quarters before holding off a MIT comeback attempt as the Engineers outscored the Rams 6-2 in the final quarter.
Ali Arat led Fordham with six goals while Alex Powell added two and Mikey Edwards one. Christian Flessner recorded 12 saves in the Fordham net.
The Ram will next be in action on Friday, November 19th, as they open play at the Eastern Championships at Bucknell against host Bucknell at 4:00 PM.
