Reno, Nev. - Though scoreless through the first 70 minutes of action, the Pacific Tigers netted two goals in the final 17 minutes to top the Fordham Rams, 2-0 at Mackey Stadium in Reno, Nev.

The Rams had the first two scoring chances of the contest. Following a Rams' corner kick, Kelsey Walker got away a shot, but was blocked by a Pacific defender in the 14th minute. Just over a minute later, Katie McDermott fired a shot, but was stopped by Pacific goalkeeper Jill Medigovich.

Fordham managed five corner kicks in the first half, but was unable to crack the scoreboard before the end of the period.

At the start of the second half, Fordham goalkeeper Rachel Suther made her first stop of the game in the 57th minute off the foot of Alex Topp, keeping the game scoreless.

Pacific then broke the tie in the 74th minute, as Maricela Padilla found Laura Hernandez for a goal, beating Suther to the near post. Hernandez then returned the favor in the 84th minute, as she crossed a pass into the box to Padilla, who then scored the Tigers' second goal of the game.

Fordham's final chance to breakthrough came on a shot by Michelle Ancelj in the final minute, but Medigovich made the save to maintain the shutout.

The Fordham women's soccer team will next be in action on Friday, September 18th, when they play at Manhattan College, beginning at 7:00 PM.
