Reno, Nev. - Looking for a change of scenery, the Fordham women's soccer team made its first ever trip to the west coast on Friday against the University of Nevada. Unfortunately, the Wolfpack got a first half header goal from Jill Erickson, and made that lead hold up for a 1-0 win over the Rams.

With the loss, Fordham falls to 0-5-1 on the season, while Nevada picked up their first win in six attempts (1-5).

The Rams picked up the first few scoring chances, but Nevada goalie Dana Moreno made stops on Katherine Wah (20th minute) and Michaela Murphy (29th minute) to keep the game scoreless.

Nevada then broke through in the 31st minute, as Kesia Broome's corner kick was headed into the goal by Jill Erickson, for the opening tally of the game.

The Rams tried desperately to get the equalizer, but Moreno was up to the task, making a total of five saves in the match for the shutout, including one on Michelle Ancelj with just over five minutes remaining in the game.

For Fordham, Jen Byer made one save in net, while Katie McDermott led the offense with a pair of shots.

The Fordham women's soccer team will next be in action on Sunday, September 13th, when they meet the University of the Pacific for a 1:00 PM Eastern (10:00 AM Pacific) match in Reno, Nevada.
