The Fordham softball team split their doubleheader with Temple University on Sunday afternoon at Bahoshy Field, dropping the opener by a 6-0 score, while coming away with a 5-3 victory in the game two behind a four-RBI performance from Samantha Pellechio.
With the split, Fordham goes to 26-13 on the season, 7-3 in the Atlantic 10, while Temple moves to 5-21 on the year, 3-5 in the conference.
In game one, Temple's Katie Burdeaux threw a complete game five-hitter with seven strikeouts, as the Owls snapped Fordham's nine-game win streak with a 6-0 shutout.

The Owls then scored one run in the second and fifth innings to take a 6-0 lead.
Burdeaux held back a number of Fordham rallies, as the Rams left nine runners on base. Fordham's best opportunity to score was in the third, as Meghan Shager led off with a triple to right center, but was left stranded there.
Beckah Wiggins (7-5) took the loss, as she went only 2/3 of an inning, allowing four runs on five hits. Chelsea Plimpton threw 3 1/3 innings of two-hit relief, allowing one earned run, while Juanita Gonzalez gave up one unearned run and one hit in three innings of relief.
In game two, Fordham's Samantha Pellechio hit her seventh home run of the season and drove in four runs, as the Rams topped the Owls, 5-3.
Fordham opened the scoring in the bottom of the third with a pair of runs. With one out, Melissa Andrews reached on an error, and moved to second on an infield single by Lindsey Kay Bright. After a ground out advanced the runners, Pellechio singled to centerfield, scoring both runners.
Temple then scored three runs in the top of the fifth to take a 3-2 edge, highlighted by a two-run double by Jess Hirschbuhl and a sacrifice fly by orene.
Fordham though regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning with a three-run rally to take a 5-3 advantage. Andrews led off with an infield single to short and stole second. After a ground out moved her to third, Mary Beth Puccio hit a ground ball to short, that Andrews beat the throw the home to tie the game. Pellechio then followed with a two-run home run to right, her seventh of the season, for a 5-3 lead.
Plimpton (7-1) would get the job done from there, as she went the distance, giving up three unearned run on five hits with three strikeouts. At the plate, Samantha Pellechio was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI, while Lindsey Kay Bright was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
