St. Louis, Mo. - In a match-up with crucial A-10 Championship implications, Saint Louis' Katie Johns was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, while Kelcie Matesa threw a complete game four-hitter, as the Billikens topped the Rams, 6-1, at the Billikens Sports Complex in St. Louis, Missouri.

With the loss, Fordham is 31-18 overall, 10-5 in the Atlantic 10, while the Billikens improved to 19-26 overall, 10-3 in the conference.

The wind seemed to make an early impact, gusting up to 30 miles per hour at the start of the game. The Billikens took use of it, scoring four times in the bottom of the first inning. Saint Louis loaded the bases on two walks and a bunt single by Rachel Heet. Nicki Jost was then hit by a pitch to force in a run. After a sacrifice fly made it 2-0, Katie Johns doubled to left center, scoring two runs for a 4-0 lead.

Saint Louis made it 5-0 in the second, as Kerri Dockins singled to center, advanced to second on a ground out, and scored on a single by Jost.

The Rams cracked the scoreboard in the top of the fifth, as Melissa Andrews connected for a solo home run to left, her third of the season.

Saint Louis capped the scoring in the bottom of the sixth with an unearned run, and go on for a 6-1 victory.

Jen Mineau (15-10) took the loss, allowing four runs on two hits and two walks in one inning pitched. Chelsea Plimpton threw five innings of five-hit relief, allowing one earned run to go with two strikeouts. At the plate, Fordham managed only four hits, highlighted by the Andrews' home run.

The same two teams will match-up for the final game of their two-game series on Saturday, beginning at 1:00 PM Eastern, noon local time.
