Bronx, N.Y. - It was a day of many happy returns for sophomore Jocelyn Dearborn connected for a pair of doubles and drove in three runs on her birthday, as the Rams completed a series sweep of the LaSalle Explorers at Bahoshy Field by a score of 9-1 in five innings.

With the win, Fordham improves to 20-12 overall, 2-2 in the Atlantic 10, while La Salle drops to 3-13 overall, 2-4 in the league.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third inning, as the Rams exploded for six runs. The rally started with a walk to Megan Waldron and a base hit by Meghan Shager to left. After Waldron was pinch run for by Jessica Richards, Melissa Andrews then singled down the left field line to score Richards from second. After a walk to Lindsey Kay Bright loaded the bases, Mary Beth Puccio drew another walk to force in Shager. Samantha Pellechio then made it a 3-0 game with a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Andrews. Jocelyn Dearborn then ripped a two-run double to left, scoring Puccio and Bright. Later in the inning, Dearborn would score on a line drive single off the pitcher by Waldron for a 6-0 lead.

Fordham then made it 9-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning with three more runs, highlighted by an RBI-double by Dearborn and a pinch-hit RBI single by Maggie Seidel.

The only thing left in the game was Jen Mineau's bid for her third no-hitter of the season, but Angelina Bisbiglia ended that with a single up the middle to lead off the fifth inning. Mineau was then relieved by Chelsea Plimpton, but Plimpton would give up two more singles to load the bases. The shutout attempt was then broken up as a pickoff attempt at third, sailed wide, allowing Bisbiglia to score. Plimpton though got Breanna DiTommaso to pop up the center, while Waldron made a diving catch in right field to retire Alicia de la Rosa to end the game.

Mineau (10-7) threw the first four innings, allowing one unearned run on one hit with four strikeouts, while Plimpton gave up two hits in her inning of work. At the plate, Jocelyn Dearborn was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored, and three RBI, while Melissa Andrews was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

The Fordham softball team will next be in action on Sunday, March 29th, as they host George Washington for an Atlantic 10 doubleheader, beginning at noon.
