Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham women's basketball team hosted local Bronx area schools at the Rose Hill Gym for the annual Rams' School Day game that matched the Rams up against the Temple Owls. Temple was able to drown the 1,734 rowdy, record setting Rams fans as they went on to defeat Fordham, 59-43.

Fordham drops to 7-15 on the season (0-7 Atlantic 10) as Temple improves to 14-7 (5-2 Atlantic 10).

After trailing Temple by as much as 18 points in the second half, Fordham began to find their stroke as senior Annie Zopf knocked down a three with 12:17 left to spark a dormant Fordham offense.

Temple's LaKeisha Eaddy responded to Zopf's trey with a layup, but back came the Rams as Tiffany Stokes dropped three straight free-throws to bring Fordham to within 13.

Senior Randall Hurst made sure she wouldn't be left out in the scoring with her jumper in the paint bringing the score to 34-45. Eaddy would then commit a costly turn over, resulting in Zopf's third three-pointer of the game to bring Fordham into a single digit deficit for the first time since early in the first half.

With 8:04 remaining, Owls' forward Shenita Landry pushed the Temple lead back to 10, but would be immediately matched with a Hurst layup to bring the score to 39-47.

Unfortunately, this would be the end of the 12-4 scoring run that the Rams put up against the Owls. Landry would put down four of her 12 points in what would ultimately begin a 9-2 Temple run to bring the Owls ahead of the Rams, 56-41, with 2:11 to go.

Zopf added two more points with a layup, but a trey from Eaddy with 11 seconds remaining sealed the deal for Temple.

The Rams second half efforts showed a completely different story than Fordham's first half offensive output. The Rams were only able to muster up two points to Temple's 17 to begin the game.

Hurst and freshman Becky Peters put an end to the streaking Owls to combine for seven points, bringing the Rams to within eight with 9:41 to go in the half. Temple kept the pressure on, pushing the lead to as much as 17 during the remainder of the half and came out to start the second half on top of the Rams, 32-16.

Temple capitalized on 19 Fordham turnovers as the Owls converted the Rams' miscues into 27 points.

Temple's Lakeisha Eaddy topped all scorers with 20 points while dishing out four assists. Shenita Landry added a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds as Shanea Cotton accounted for 15 of Temple's 21 bench points.

Annie Zopf led the way for the Fordham offense with 15 points, nine of which came from beyond the arc. Her three treys leave her two short of 100 for her career.

Randall Hurst added 12 points for her 13th double-digit scoring game of the season. Tiffany Stokes grabbed 10 rebounds, marking the first time this season that she has had back-to-back games with double-digit rebounds.

The Fordham women's basketball team will head out to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on the La Salle Explorers on Saturday, February 7th. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.
