Short-Handed Squash Falls to Vassar, 8-1

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - The Fordham University squash team traveled up to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to face Vassar College but unfortunately for the Rams, only six players were able to make the trip as Fordham fell to Vassar, 8-1.

Ken Fukumoto picked up the point for the Rams, winning at the sixth position over Vassar's Andrew Lindsey, 3-2. Fukumoto dropped the first game, 11-2, before winning the next two, 11-8 and 11-5. But Lindsay forced a fifth game with an 11-5 win in the fourth game with Fukumoto winning the deciding game, 11-8.

Colin Corbett almost picked up a win for the Rams at the second position, falling to Arjun Agarwala, 3-2. Corbett won the first game, 13-11, before dropping the second, 11-9, and then winning the third, 11-6. But Agarwala won the fourth, 11-5, and fifth games, 11-8, to win the match.

The Rams will next be in action on Saturday, November 21st, as they host Bard College at 2:00 PM in the Lombardi Center.
