Bronx, N.Y. - Behind ten kills each from Christi Griffiths, Kailee May, and Katie Wells, the Fordham volleyball team made their "DiG PiNK" day a successful one with a three-set sweep of Rhode Island at the Rose Hill Gym. Final set scores were 25-20, 25-14, and 25-12.

With the win, Fordham has won three straight matches, improving to 11-15 overall, 2-7 in the Atlantic 10, while Rhode Island fell to 7-14 overall, 1-8 in league play.

In set one, Fordham took control with a 5-1 run, highlighted by two Jenna Hart kills, to take a 19-15 lead. Rhode Island closed back within two at 21-19, but Fordham picked up two kills and a block by Christi Griffiths to win set one, 25-20.

Fordham then went on cruise control for set two, hitting .310 as a team, to post an 11-point win, led by four kills from Katie Wells.

Fordham then closed out the "Battle of the Rams" with a 25-12 win in the third set, where they never trailed.

For Fordham, Griffiths had a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs to go with three blocks, while Kailee May had 10 kills and nine digs. Wells also had ten kills with Michele Keathley adding 16 digs defensively.

Throughout the match, the Rams sold T-shirts, took donations, and had raffles to raise money for the Side-Out Foundation for breast cancer research.

The Fordham volleyball team will next be in action on Sunday, October 25th, when they host Villanova University at 2:00 PM in the Rose Hill Gym.
