Fordham's Jolanda Gunning-Snowden was on target all night, posting match-highs of nine kills and three blocks, as she led the Rams to a 3-0 sweep of the Wagner Seahawks at the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday night.
With the win, Fordham improves to 4-1 on the year, while Wagner drops to 0-2.
Fordham jumped out to a 10-6 lead in set one, behind three early kills from Christi Griffiths. Fordham finished on a 15-8 run to win set one, 25-14.
In set two, Fordham won by a 25-18 count, where Kailee May led the Rams with four kills and eight digs.
The Rams then ran away in set three with a 25-12 win. Fordham held Wagner to a -.226 hitting percentage in the set, recording three team blocks, while individually Jenna Hart had three kills for the Rams.
Besides Gunning-Snowden, Griffiths finished the match with seven kills, while May had six kills and 14 digs. Katherine Burrell dished out a match-high 22 assists to go with a pair of kills and seven digs.
The Fordham volleyball team will next be in action on Friday, September 5th, as they compete at the ORU Classic, hosted by Oral Roberts University. The Rams will play host Oral Roberts at 8:00 PM Eastern on Friday, and then Tulsa and North Texas on Saturday at 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM Eastern, respectively.
