Water Polo Finishes Fordham Invitational With Unbeaten Mark

Bronx, N.Y. - Day two at the Fordham Water Polo Invitational is complete, as eight games were played on Sunday with host Fordham and Mt. San Antonio, both winning two games on the day.

Here's a breakdown of each game:

Game 1 - Mt. San Antonio 12, Univ. of Toronto 5

Mike Edwards netted four goals in the first half, as he led Mt. San Antonio to a 12-5 win over the University of Toronto. Will Brown and Chris Hernandez also had two goals for Mt. San Antonio. For Toronto, Trevor Robinson totaled nine saves in the game, while Chaz Ilhan and Milos Radojcic each had two goals.

Game 2 - Mercyhurst 15, Navy B 11

Alex Moggridge and Andrew Schonhoff each had five goals as the Lakers defeated Navy B, 15-11. Andy Sekulski made seven saves in net for Mercyhurst with Blake Stabler having two tallies. For Navy, ten different players scored with Darren McKay having two goals in the match, while Matt Downing (three saves) and Dominic Valentini (three saves) split duties in net.

Game 3 - Fordham 19, Asphalt Green 4

Eleven different Rams found the back of the net, as Fordham topped Asphalt Green, 19-4. Leading the Fordham attack, Alex Powell scored three times to go with an assist, while Daniel Muñoz also had three goals. Scott Nemecek though had the big day with two goals, five assists, and a pair of steals, with Andrew McKernin also having two goals and two assists.

In net Timmy Will played the first two and a half quarters, making six saves, while Christian Flessner closed the game with seven saves over the final period and a half.

Game 4 - University of Toronto 11, NYAC 8

Brook Ruffo netted five goals while Ryan Speers scored three times, as the Varsity Blues topped the NYAC, 11-8. Toronto's Trevor Robinson made 10 saves in net.

Game 5 - Mt. San Antonio 13, Queens College 10

Mt. San Antonio scored four times in each of the final three periods as they went onto a 13-10 victory over Queens College. Brendan Cheng, Chris Hernandez, and Shane Hurter each had three goals in the match for Mt. San Antonio, while Queens College was led by Josh Tatro and Guilherme Cordovil, who each had three goals.

Game 6 - NYAC 14, Mercyhurst 10

Mercyhurst's Andy Sekulski made eight saves but it wasn't enough as the NYAC topped Mercyhurst, 14-10. Kane Ashton, Trevor McIlwaine, Alex Moggridge and Andrew Schonhoff each had two goals for Mercyhurst.

Game 7 - Fordham 13, Navy B 7

Scott Nemecek netted three goals and three assists, while Andrew McKernin and Alex Powell each had two goals, as the Rams went onto a 13-7 win. Defensively, the Rams had 12 steals, lead by Tim Simo with three, with McKernin and Mark Connor each having two.

Game 8 - Queens 13, NYAC 13

In the final match of the tournament, Queens and NYAC played to a 13-13 tie, as Camilo Bedoya had a game-high five goals for Queens, while Matt Degorio added three goals.
