East Norriton, Pa. - With a roller coaster of emotions in a low scoring game, Fordham's Allison Twarowski just missed a no-hitter, but kept a cool head, pitching ten innings, and got a two-run home run from Erin Fisher to give Fordham a 3-1 win over Saint Joseph's at East Norriton Field.

With the win, Fordham improves to 29-24 overall, 8-6 in the Atlantic 10, while Saint Joseph's falls to 16-19 overall, 9-7 in the league.

With the game scoreless in the top of the fifth, Fordham grabbed a 1-0 lead, as Samantha Pellechio led off with a single, and was pinch run for by Sarah Campbell. After two strikeouts and a stolen base, pinch-hitter Megan Waldron dropped a single into right field to score Campbell from second.

The focus then shifted to starting pitcher Allison Twarowski, who took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, allowing just two walks over the first six innings. Twarowski came close to preserving the no-hitter in the seventh, throwing a 1-2 pitch to Erika Rosenwinkel with one out that just missed. Rosenwinkel then doubled to left center on the next pitch to break up the no-hitter.

After an intentional walk and a sac bunt moved the runners up, Dani Gonzales singled up the middle to score Rosenwinkel and tie the game. Twarowski though held tough as she struck out Sarah Falk and got pinch hitter Alyssa Neilson to ground out to get the game into extra innings.

The Rams got into a jam in the bottom of the eighth, as the Hawks loaded the bases with one out. Twarowski was again up to the task, getting Brooke Darreff and Kelsey Moir to both pop up and end the threat.

After another scoreless inning, the Fordham bats came alive in the top of the tenth, as Pellechio doubled to right center to start the inning. Erin Fisher then blasted a two-run home run to left field, which stayed inside the foul pole for her fifth round-tripper of the season.

Fordham had to sweat out another possible rally by Saint Joseph's in the bottom of the inning, as Rosenwinkel and Darreff hit back-to-back singles with two outs. Moir though grounded out fittingly to Twarowski to give Fordham the win.

Twarowski (9-7) went the distance on the mound for the Rams, allowing five hits while fanning four, while also picking up a pair of hits at the plate. Pellechio also banged out two hits for Fordham, who outhit the Hawks, 7-5.

The Rams will next be in action on Sunday, April 27th, as they travel to Temple's Ambler Field for an Atlantic 10 doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
