Bronx, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure's Sherri Thompson was a one-person wrecking crew this afternoon against the Fordham Rams at Bahoshy Field. In game one, she threw a two-hit shutout, striking out seven in a 1-0 victory. She then hit the game-winning three-run home run in the top of the seventh and pitched a complete game six-hitter to complete the sweep with a 4-2 win.

With the sweep, Fordham drops to 21-21 overall, 5-5 in the Atlantic 10, while St. Bonaventure improves to 12-14 overall, 7-3 in the league.

In game one, St. Bonaventure scored the only run of the game in the second inning. Kara Morenus drew a walk to open the frame, and moved to second on a ground out. Stephanie Narde then singled up the middle, scoring Morenus.

That was all Thompson needed, as she took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before Allison Twarowski broke it up with a single through the right side. She was however thrown out trying to steal second.

Fordham tried to tie the game in the seventh, as Allison Storc singled with one out, and was pinch run for by Sarah Campbell. The Rams could not score her though, as Jocelyn Dearborn lined out to left and Erin Fisher struck out looking.

For Thompson (9-6), it was her third straight shutout, as she struck out seven in the game.

Allison Twarowski (6-6) was the hard luck loser, allowing one run on three hits with five strikeouts, while also going 1-for-3 at the plate.

In game two, St. Bonaventure got on the board immediately in the first, as Kathryn Pazda walked, was sacrificed to second, and scored on a single by Morenus.

Fordham tied the game in the fourth, as Storc connected on a solo home run to right, her sixth of the season.

Storc and Twarowski then led the Rams to a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth. Twarowski tripled to center to open the inning, and one out later, Storc singled up the middle to score Twarowski.

In the seventh, St. Bonaventure got a lead off single from Narde, who was then sacrificed to second. Maureen Wells then pinch hit for the Bonnies, replacing Shelly Seeger. Fordham's Beckah Wiggins got Wells to strikeout, but on the drop third strike, Fisher dropped the ball at first, leaving runners safe at first and third. Thompson then helped her own cause, batting for just the third time all year, and hit a pinch hit three-run home run to center field, giving the Bonnies a 4-2 lead.

The Rams did get the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh, as Samantha Pellechio double down the right field line, bringing Fisher to the plate, but she would foul out to first base to end the game.

Thompson (10-6) allowed two runs on six hits with three strikeouts to record her second win of the day.

Wiggins (8-7) took the loss, allowing four runs on three hits with five walks and five strikeouts. Storc finished game two 3-for-3 with two RBI.

The Fordham softball team will next be in action on Tuesday, April 15th, as they play a doubleheader at St. Peter's College, beginning at 3:30 PM.
