After opening the season with five losses, the Fordham University squash team seems to have found its winning ways as the Rams defeated Vassar College, 7-2, in Poughkeepsie on Wednesday night.
It was an evening of tight competition, as four matches went to five sets, with the Rams winning three of the four.
Mike Hennessy won at the No. 1 spot in three sets as did Peter Jang at No. 2. Peter Slucky was one of the three Rams to win in five sets, taking the fourth spot from Henk Isom, winning the first set before dropping the second and third sets and then coming back to win the fourth and fifth set.
Brandon Abbatiello took the fifth position, 3-0, for the Rams while Tyler McCoy and Colin Corbett took the No. seven and eight spots in five sets. Andriy Kulak was the other winner for Fordham, taking the ninth position in stratight sets.
The Fordham squash team will next be in action on December 6th as they travel to Haverford, Penn., to face Haverford College at 12:00 p.m. and Penn State at 2:00 p.m.
