Philadelphia, Pa. - With a total of 32 shots in 110 minutes of play, nothing was decided at the Ambler Soccer Complex as the Fordham men's soccer team played to a scoreless tie against the Temple Owls on Friday afternoon.

With the tie, Fordham is now 8-7-2 on the season, 4-3-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Temple moves to 9-4-4 overall, 5-1-2 in the conference.

Both teams made their presence felt physically on the field, as neither the Owls nor the Rams could find the net in the first half. The Owls managed seven shots, while Fordham had four, but not a single one was actually on goal.

In the second half, Fordham had the first true scoring chance in the 53rd minute, as Brett Heyder lined up a shot with Bret Mollon making the save for Temple.

Temple then put on the pressure late in regulation as J.T. Noone posted three shots over the final seven minutes, but Fordham's Ryan Meara stopped all three to push the game into overtime.

Meara would come up big again in overtime, as he stopped Tyler Witmer twice and Keneshukwu Nwanah once to end the game in a scoreless tie.

In total, Ryan Meara made six saves for his seventh shutout of the season for Fordham, while Bret Mollon had two saves for his eighth shutout of the year.

The tie though unfortunately was not what the Rams needed as George Washington won in overtime on Friday afternoon, which pushed the Colonials past the Rams in the Atlantic 10 standings with one game remaining.

Fordham will now need a win and some help on Sunday, November 9th, to make their second straight appearance in the Atlantic 10 Championship. They will play at Saint Joseph's, beginning at 1:00 PM.
