Pittsburgh, Pa. - For 75 minutes of play, it looked as if the tiniest play would be the difference in the Fordham-Saint Louis men's soccer match in the opening round of the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship. Saint Louis got that play as Brandon Barklage snuck a shot past Fordham goalkeeper Ryan Meara for the first goal of the game, as the Billikens went on to a 2-0 victory over the Rams in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

With the loss, Fordham ends their season at 9-8-2 overall, while Saint Louis improved to 11-3-5.

After a scoreless first half which saw Saint Louis outshoot the Rams, 11-5, the Billikens found the net in the 76th minute as Brandon Barklage snuck the ball past Fordham goalkeeper Ryan Meara for his seventh goal of the season and a 1-0 lead.

In the minutes that followed, Fordham got shots from Steve Woicik and Mike McTigue, but neither found the net.

The Billikens tallied an insurance goal in the 89th minute when Kyle Hayes scored on a Dado Hamzagic assist for the night's final goal. It was Hayes' fifth goal of the season.

Saint Louis keeper Pat Disbennett stopped all three shots on goal for the shutout. Fordham held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks and had 13 shots, with Ryan Meara making five saves in goal.
