Volleyball Offense Downs La Salle In Four Sets

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham volleyball team clicked on all offensive cylinders on Friday night, as they hit .396 as a team, led by a career-high 15 kills from Jenna Hart to post a four-set victory over the La Salle Explorers at the Rose Hill Gym. Final set scores were 25-18, 25-18, 23-25, and 25-9.

With the win, Fordham improves to 15-14 overall, 3-6 in the Atlantic 10, while La Salle falls to 5-22 overall, 1-10 in league play.

Fordham was dominant in the first two sets, hitting .500 and .343 to win each set by identical 25-18 scores.

In set three, La Salle led by three late in the set, 23-20, before Fordham tied the set at 23 on kills by Jenna Hart and Christi Griffiths as well as a La Salle error. The Explorers though got set point on a service error, and won the set on an ace by Rachel Stemper, 25-23.

Fordham then regained the momentum in set four, jumping out to a 13-7 lead, before reeling off seven straight for a 20-7 edge, and never looked back.

For Fordham, Jenna Hart posted a double-double with a career-high 15 kills to go with 13 digs, while Katie Wells had a match-high 18 kills. Christi Griffiths chipped in 16 kills and three blocks, with Kailee May having five aces, six kills and seven digs.

The Fordham volleyball team will next be in action on Saturday, November 1st, when they host Temple University at the Rose Hill Gym, beginning at 5:00 PM.
