Cincinnati, Ohio - In the third weekend of Atlantic 10 play, the Fordham Rams know it was important to pick up points to keep the momentum gained from a huge win over then ninth-ranked Saint Louis in the first weekend. The Rams also had the unenviable task of traveling to Ohio this weekend and the weekend got off to a slow start with a 1-0 loss at Dayton on Friday night. But Steve Woicik made sure the Rams got out of the weekend with three valuable points, scoring in the 84th minute to break a 1-1 tie and lead Fordham to a 2-1 win at Xavier on Sunday.

With the win, Fordham improves to 7-6-1 overall, 3-2 in the Atlantic 10, while Xavier falls to 2-10-3 overall, 1-3-2 in the conference.

On the game-winner, Mike McTigue served a cross inside the box and Woicik connect on a header which beat Xavier keeper Ryan Engelmann for his second goal of the year.

The Rams took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute as Grant Kerr put a corner kick deep into the Xavier box which found John Pardini's feet. Pardini then directed the ball past Engelmann and into the net for his second tally of the season.

The Musketeers picked up the equalizer in the 64th minute when Andy Dimbi fed Ricky Sutherland 20-yards out and Sutherland found a streaking Jimmy Cummings, who put a blast past Fordham keeper Ryan Meara with his second goal of the year.

Meara finished with five saves in the Fordham net as the Rams outshot the Musketeers, 22-19, on the day.

The Rams will next be in action on Friday night, October 31st, as they host the University of Rhode Island in an Atlantic 10 match on Jack Coffey Field at 7:00 p.m.
