An early goal by Dayton's Isaac Kissi proved to be the difference on Friday night, as the Fordham men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the Dayton Flyers at Baujan Field in Dayton, Ohio.
With the loss, Fordham is now 6-6-1 on the year, 2-2 in the Atlantic 10, while Dayton improves to 10-2-2 overall, 4-0-1 in the conference.
Dayton struck quickly on their first shot of the game to take the early lead at the 11:08 mark. Tommy Watkins hit a long ball to Alex Torda, who crossed it to Isaac Kissi. Kissi then finish his first goal of the season, beating Ryan Meara to the left side of the net.
The Rams tried to find the equalizer for the next 79 minutes, but the Rams were kept at bay by Dayton goalkeeper Tyler Picard, who made four saves in the contest for the shutout.
Fordham posted 11 shots on the night, led by Steve Woicik, who finished with four shots, and Grant Kerr, who had three. In net, Fordham's Ryan Meara made four saves on 12 Dayton shots.
The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Sunday, October 26th, when the Rams play at Xavier University, beginning at 1:00 PM.
