Ambler, Pa. - The Fordham women's soccer team scored early and then held off a second half comeback attempt from Temple as the Rams completed their weekend in Philadelphia with a 1-0 Atlantic 10 win over the Owls on Ambler Field. With the win, Fordham advances to 8-4-1 overall on the year, 5-1-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Temple falls to 2-9-5 overall, 0-4-4 in the conference.

The Rams wasted little time in getting on the board, putting pressure on the Temple defense from the opening whistle. In the sixth minute, Katie Sanchez fired a shot that Temple keeper Kara Williams managed to stop, but she could not hold on to the ball and the rebound came to Kim Boulos who one-timed it by Williams for her team-leading seventh tally of the season.

The Rams continued to attack the Temple defense but couldn't find the back of the net a second time. The Owls had a couple of scoring chances late in the game, but couldn't break through the Rams' defense as Fordham recorded its fifth shutout of the year.

Williams finished with five saves for Temple while Fordham keeper Elisabeth Roald was not called upon to make a save as the Rams outshot the Owls, 10-3, on the day.

Fordham will next be in action on Friday night, October 24th, as the Rams host the University of Rhode Island Rams in an Atlantic 10 match on Jack Coffey Field at 7:00 p.m.
