Philadelphia, Pa. - The Fordham women's soccer team played its second of three straight games in the city of Philadelphia on Friday night, which eventually ended in a 2-2 tie against the Saint Joseph's Hawks at Finnesey Field.

With the tie, Fordham goes to 7-4-2 on the season, 4-1-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Saint Joseph's is now 7-4-3 overall, 2-1-3 in the conference.

On a cool night, the Hawks struck first in the seventh minute. Picking up a loose ball, Laura Adams found Lauren Sawyer for a shot to the lower left corner of the net and a 1-0 lead.

Fordham quickly responded in the 11th minute, as off a Hawk defender, Mariella Romano collected the ball in the box, and scored on a shot to the right corner, her first goal of the season.

The score stayed tied at one until the second half, where Fordham grabbed a 2-1 advantage. Just 1:34 into the second half, Katie McDermott headed in a goal off a 30-yard free kick from Catherine Huvane. It was McDermott's third goal of the season.

The game stayed in Fordham's favor until the 84th minute, where Saint Joseph's was able to get the equalizer. Jen Pfeiffer scored on a centering pass from Kortney Rhoades from eight yards out to knot the game at two.

In overtime, Fordham tried to get the game-winning goal, recording a total of six shots in the extra 20 minutes of play. The best opportunities came in the final minute, as both Danielle Ingram and Huvane had shots on goal, but Hawks goalkeeper Megan Bastianelli made the save on both attempts to keep the game tied.

In net, Bastianelli made a total of four saves on the night, while Fordham's Elisabeth Roald made two saves.

The Fordham women's soccer team will next be in action on Sunday, October 19th, as they play at Temple University, beginning at 1:00 PM.
