Men's Soccer Fall to Boston University on first round of adidas-Brown Classic

Providence, R.I. - The Fordham University men's soccer team fell to Boston University 4-0 in the first game of the 2007 adidas-Brown Classic held at Brown University's Stevenson Field on Friday night. With the loss, the Rams fall to 1-2 on the year while the Terriers improve to 2-1.

The Terriers opened the scoring early as Samuel Appish scored an unassisted goal in the ninth minute to give Boston University a 1-0 lead.

The 1-0 lead would hold until the second half when the Terriers scored three times in a 15 minute span to take a commanding 4-0 lead. Daniel Chu scored the first two Boston University goals in the half, taking a feed from Neil Hlavaty in the 68th minute and putting it past Fordham keeper Dan Hajducky. Nine minutes later, Chu struck again, this time off an assist from Petur Sigurdsson in the 77th minute.

Tom Stackhouse closed out the scoring for the Terriers with an unassisted tally in the 83rd minute.

Hrafn Davidson played the first 83 minutes in net for the Terriers, recording seven saves. Hajducky, making his collegiate debut, registered four saves in the Fordham net.

The Rams will continue play at the adidas-Brown Classic on Sunday as they face the host school, Brown University, at 2:30 pm.
