Bronx, N.Y. - After seeing their last game stopped by lightning, the Fordham men's soccer team had another strange occurrence, as their game at Manhattan was moved to Jack Coffey Field, due a bad transformer at Gaelic Park, which knocked out the lights.
The power shortage then turned on the field as Fordham and Manhattan played to a scoreless tie, as Fordham out shot Manhattan, 14-9.
Fordham has now posted three consecutive ties, giving them a 1-4-3 record.
The Rams had plenty of scoring opportunities throughout the match, led by senior Dean Stanic, who had four shots.
One of the better scoring chances came in the 16th minute, as Salim Lewis took a cross from Grant Kerr, but sailed a shot just wide of the right post.
Just five minutes later, Kevin Meyer almost broke the deadlock, but Manhattan's John Ciano came out of the crease to negate Meyer's shot and keep the game scoreless.
The Rams had a pair of chances in the 65th minute, as both John Pardini and Steve Woicik each let a shot go, that sailed just wide of the net.
In net, Fordham's Dan Hajducky made two saves for his second shutout in three games, while John Ciano had three for Manhattan.
The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Sunday, October 7th, as they meet Adelphi at 3:00 PM in the second half of a soccer doubleheader at Jack Coffey Field.
